President Pranab Mukherjee arrived in Hyderabad today for a 10-day southern sojourn. Pranab was accorded warm welcome by Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao at the Indian Air Force Station Hakimpet.
In an unprecedented gesture KCR touched the feet of President Pranab Mukherjee, when he arrived at Hyderabad . A big man like KCR touching the feet of president attracted many onlookers. Pranab plays key role in Telangana formation and KCR might opt this way to show his gratitude.
Pranab will stay till July 8 th and he will inaugurate a 'Nakshatra Vatika' at Rashtrapati Nilayam, Bolarum on July 6. Rashtrapati Nilayam is one of the two official retreats of the President of India, the other being 'The Retreat Building' in Shimla.
It is customary for the President to visit Rashtrapati Nilayam and stay there at least once a year and conduct official business from there.
