James Horner was 61. The plane – a S-312 Tucano MK1 turbo-prop with two seats – crashed about 9.30 am local time on Monday in the Los Padres national forest.No one else was on board.
Horner was born in Los Angeles in 1953. His father was a set designer and occasional art-director.He had a brother, Christopher, who is a writer and documentary film maker.
Upon knowing death Actor and director Ron Howard tweeted: "Brilliant Composer James Horner, friend & collaborator on 7 movies has tragically died in a plane crash. My heart aches for his loved ones."
