Out: Revanth Reddy Bail petition’s verdict


Revanth reddy has to spend few more days in Jail. Hearing on the bail petition moved by A Revantha Reddy, Telangana TDP MLA, in the cash-for-vote scam, court has reserved the verdict and the decision has been posted to Tuesday 30th june 2015

The high court heard the arguments of the defence and prosecution and reserved its judgement on their petitions. While senior advocate Siddharth Luthra represented Revanth Reddy, advocate general Ramakrishna Reddy argued for the Telangana government

During arguments, the defence counsel today contended that their clients have already served 25 days in custody and asserted that all evidence in the case was collected and there was no question of tampering. Siddharth Luthra opined that his client was eligible to get bail.

Other isde Telangana Government’s advocate general Ramakrishna Reddy argued that the Cash for Vote scam was not merely limited to the MLC elections, but was part of a larger conspiracy to destabilize the Telangana government. He told the court that if only 10 MLAs were horse traded the Government could have collapesed on whole and that Sattupalli MLA Sandra Venkata Veeriah had been absconding. Ramakrishan reddy said that the source of Rs 4.5 crore funds was yet to be ascertained.

After hearing both sides judge adjourned the verdict till June 30.A large number of people gathered at the high court chamber where the hearing was going on.
